Encouraging

Despite popular belief, Egypt is one of the more sane Middle Eastern countries, as is Jordan. They work hard to curb terrorism, not that they always succeed. So yes, Middle Eastern countries are perfectly capable of governing themselves successfully, they just choose not to.
