35 Years On, I think that “Postliberal” sums it up
My mother had no truck w/ prepositions at the end of a sentence. "Arrgh! You sound like a hick!" My mother was from Montana.
Which reminds me of a joke: A southern woman plunked herself down in a seat on the plane, settled herself, smiled, and said to the woman next to her "So! Where y'all from?""A place where we don't end a sentence with a preposition," the other said primly.The southern gal thought for a bit. "So! Where y'all from, bitch?"
Some prepositions are just made to end a sentence with.
And I always say "Whence comest thou?"
