Red Sox fans might smell first place in this upcoming series, but don't get greedy, or disappointed if it doesn't come to pass. We only need one win out of the three games to hold our wild car dominance.
Not bad for a team which had so many injuries to key players this season.

My main concern with the wild card is it likely means the Angels are the opponent. Our record against the Angels this year? 1-8. I'd rather play the White Sox (4-3) or the Twins (4-3).
Plus, I want the psychological advantage going into the playoffs that we can take the Rays when we play them.
I'm still uncertain about this team, but with Byrd playing well and it seeming that we're getting healthy and peaking at the right time, we just might end up hitting the playoffs on all cylinders.
Rangers fans this weekend seemed surprised I doubted. They all think the Sox are a lock.
Everyone's come off the DL (4 in the last five days) at the right time, that's for sure.
