Therapy will not give you courage. Therapy may give you possible approaches to a difficult situation, but it will not give you directions. What therapy will do is help you manage the uncomfortable and even painful emotions that will inevitably result from difficult actions. If you take the analogy of physical therapy or occupational therapy you will come close to the truth.
The pain and difficulty are still going to be there, you will just be better able to get through the experience. If you expect more than this, you will be stuck in therapy a long time, wondering why you aren't getting any better.
