I see that on Quillette in the sidebar, there is an article about Two-Spirit controversies in Canada.
I wrote about the topic in 2014. The focus seems to have changed a bit, but the lack of clarity of thinking seems to be the same. You might find my discussion to be useful background.

Hey, that's my dad's favorite movie too. I just watched it with him the other day. I thought it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever seen.
It was my favorite at the time, in the brief years I was going to movies for dates, aged 16-21. I also liked "Sleuth" and "Catch-22." Same time period
