Yes, it was really to the objects, but it's more fun this way.
It's not really even close to mid-day, even with the clearest full moon and whitest snow, but the almost-full moon tonight does give that surprising impression of "why, it's so bright - you can see things almost as if it is day!"

I suspect it gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, on account of the snow,but I don't know whatit gave the snow specifically.

A full moon over snow-covered corn fields is a wondrous sight. But that's the midwesterner in me talking.
