Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud
My schooling didn't include King Philip. Had to google it to find out who he was.
I recently read Nathaniel Philbrick's Mayflower book which narrates King Philip's war.Looking for details of my ancestor, Stephen Hopkins. The pilgrims had it coming to them.
Well, copithorne, our ancestor Stephen Hopkins was the ne'er-do-well of the crew, wasn't he? And I agree that Philbrick's book is excellent. A balanced account, it seemed, looking neither to exonerate or condemn anyone, but simply tell the story.I recommend also David Hackett Fischer's Albion's Seed
RU telling me we are distant cousins? Lord have mercy. Well, we were always brought up that we came over on the Mayflower and didn't move 100 miles since.
