Carols

I complained about the disappearance of traditional Christmas carols a few weeks ago.  I should note that Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra do traditional carols, and have brought them forward into modern performance.  Not so much my style anymore, but I express my gratitude that they have done it at all.  Here is TSO doing O Come All Ye Faithful/O Holy Night.

I first heard TSO performing "Carol of the Bells" as an instrumental.

With an electric guitar as lead instrument.

I think I first heard of Mannheim Steamroller in the 90's, while listening to Rush Limbaugh. He ran MS's Christmas pieces as 'bumper music' between the end of the commercial and the resumption of his show. (At least, he did so during on December in the 1990's.)

My mom went looking for MS as a gift for my dad, and was surprised to find them in the 'New Age' section.
