Antiplanner

Commenter Robert Sykes over at Maggie's Farm, who I assume is the same sykes who visits here, put me on to a site called Antiplanner, which I am liking. It puts numbers to assertions, which is always welcome. I am currently reading about federal help for light rail and metros - which they refer to more generally as transit - and why it continues to be a money-loser. Good stuff. The blogger is a lover of trains, BTW, but doesn't allow that to cloud his vision.

I've been a reader there for years, and concur that it is great, even with the late changes in quantity, frequency, and size of the posts.

It is also a site that (as far as I can tell) does not "moderate" out the criticism of the points and data. I'd have to say that I'm not impressed with the vast majority of the criticism from the regular critics, but I much prefer it when points can be challenged on-site -- I guess I feel that I'm less likely to fall into a groupthink trap. Or maybe it just saves me labor in being a good sceptic and finding the crititcs of arguments that I've found compelling.
