It has genetics, crime statistics (with graphs!), medieval ideas and values, unpopular conclusions based on some evidence...what's not to like? It raises but does not answer the question of whether recidivism has more basis in environmental factors like income or surrounding criminality than the original crimes do. That could be interesting.
