Handling Bats

Over at Maggie's, Roy Lofquist has a solution in the comments about dealing with bats who are in wrong places - such as your house, for example. Spritz 'em with water and they're easier to catch and move.

I don't have to do this often, twice in my life, maybe, but it's a nice strategy to keep on hand.

Thanks. We are terrified of them here, as a twelve year old girl died of rabies from a bat bite here a few years ago. Despite appreciating their anti-bug efforts and how beautifully weird they are...

I've actually been trying to *attract* bats to help suppress the mosquitos in my back yard...put up a nice bat house for them, but so far no tenants.
