26 degrees this morning, but sunny and calm and felt like spring. A day like this in October would have me wondering whether I would make it to New Year's Day.
Not intending to rub it in but it is amazing how hot 70 degrees feels (80 percent humidity doesn't help) after several days with lows in the single digits. Don't worry, we're going to drop over 50 degrees by Tuesday morning.
It was balmy last week. I can't say it's cold today, but the wind blew over 20mph sustained for most of the day, and the temperature hovered between 50 and 55, which is chilly for us. The shoreline on the nearby shallow bay receded about 20-30 yards from the consistent north wind blowing out all the water. An awfully big air mass clearly was being moved over the continent.

Us also, dropping 50 degrees overnight. I spent part of today moving firewood into the basement.
