People with Borderline personality Disorder do not distinguish well between "You aren't listening to me!" and "You don't agree with me." The internet, especially social media, favors them and empowers them.
There is an easy generalisation that such people are uncomfortable with your definiteness and want you to respond to social rather than logical arguments. Yet I fear that is only a stereotype on my part.
Stereotypes are usually at least partly true. sometimes they are very true. I just don't have a good feel for how many people this applies to. Some, certainly.

What do you make of people who reply to substantive arguments by making admonitions to "keep an open mind"?
