Researching my next post about "Midgard II" and the history of Dungeons and Dragons, I ran across a timeline of wargaming which included, in the late 60's, a reference to the New England Wargaming Association, vaguely headquartered in Arlington, MA, putting out a newsletter. In the newsletter there was reference to the miniature figures of military gaming, and an article by Don Featherstone.
Donald Featherstone! From central MA, inventor of the plastic flamingo and well-known eccentric, who I have discussed here - could it be the same one?
Nope. Not even close. An entirely different Donald Featherstone, from England.
