I would think this was a joke, but apparently it isn't. A great example of the DNC trying to appeal more intensely to the voters they already have rather than try to win anyone new. A recipe for increased anger, I predict.
He's the one getting all the headlines, probably because he's the most polarizing/controversial of the 4 new vice-chairs. Civic Engagement and Voter Participation vice chair is now Reyna Walters-Morgan Artie Blanco, Malcolm Kenyatta, and David Hogg replace Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senator Tammy Duckworth, and Henry Rueben Muñoz III. Muñoz had been finance chair for the DNC 2013-2019, so he was an insider pick.
Toxoplasma of rage again. People are grabbing headlines over moving toward their own stated goals. I’ve mentioned in my local legal controversy someone recently pointed out the lawyers have done more TV interviews than pre-trial motions, and local attorneys are astounded people were calling that a “legal dream team”.
A different example: in a corner of Twitter I loosely follow, a Christian podcaster recently had on a rather controversial guest. People objected, but many pushed back that this man had “an important voice” and “unique insights people needed to hear”. After seeing this claim for the hundredth time with no specifics, I got curious what the topic of the episode was, and discovered it was the Trump prosecution in NY. The controversial guest was not a lawyer, and it’s unclear if he’s even a US citizen. He hasn’t lived here for at least 3 decades, and doesn’t even have a particular history of commenting on politics. My immediate thought was “there must be literally 1000 people with better informed and more interesting opinions than this guy, even in just the conservative pro Trump Twitter-sphere”. The one thing he did have was a hefty social media following. Attention is the most valuable currency.
