They try and claim the moral high ground on the basis of what they want to do with other people's money. It is a dangerous, dangerous attitude, not only for its practical effects, but for its spiritual deterioration.

... and besides what Terro said, liberals use charity as an excuse to impose their will upon the unenlightened (to wit: everyone not a liberal). Plus, I have it on good authority that government has never seen a tax it didn't like.
"Taxes" is so passe a term - it's been facelifted to "Revenue enhancements", don't you remember? ;-)
