The enemy of my enemy is statistically not my friend, but my enemy. For those of us who are math-raised, who apply +/- directionality to grammar, culture, and conventional wisdom, this is unexpected.  In fact, I would like to see more data on this.

Why we don't notice good things as much.

"The enemy of my enemy is statistically not my friend, but my enemy." That seems to be true enough throughout history. The enemy of your enemy can be kind of friendly for a few campaigns, but don't turn your back on him.
