Very good. Around 5:20 there is a shot of post-harvest grain. The grain appears to me to be corn. Before 1500 and the importation of corn/maiz to Europe, "corn" was a generic term for grain. (edible part.)
Yes. Also peppercorn. Maize was "Indian corn." All the Germanic languages have a cognate that means seed, small seed, grain.

This was the first version I ever heard, when I was a teenager, and it will always be my favorite. The whole album is excellent.
I like the album version, though, for the vocal harmonies.
