Torbay

This is not where we are going. If I ever get time travel, though, this place would make the list. Someone will do it in VR eventually.

Been there. Although it was a only a quick swing through Cornwall and Devon when we took our last family trip to England before our daughters graduated and got married. Wonderful area in so many ways.

At 1:43 and 1:50 one gets views from both outside and inside the car of a lap-child sharing the front seat , something one is highly unlikely to find nowadays in the UK.

There was a timeshare ownership in my wife's family of a flat at "The Osborne Apartments" in Torquay; we got to use it a few times when we lived that side of the pond: https://youtu.be/EAquFfwjSj0?t=3

It's very different now from 1968. One of the prominent hotels shown in the 1968 video is now an old-peoples' home, and my recollection is that we saw very few vacationers who were not elderly. The Osbourne seems to retain some glamour - several times I parked next to Bentleys or Aston Martins, and on one occasion the prime-minister's wife was said to be using one of the other apartments at the same time as our visit. But the advent of cheap flights to the Mediterranean resorts has not been good for the UK seaside resort towns.
