Spelling Bee

It takes a special kind of stupid to look at seven of eight spelling bee winners from the same very small immigrant group (and likely all from two castes) and say there is zero genetic influence here. I like Jeff Jacoby, but sometimes people have to accept the obvious and start from there.  That the winners all likely worked very, very hard in practicing for be Scripps National Spelling Bee I do not in any way deny. Yet this is what we keep coming up against.  Two sides of the argument say that there is some genetics involved - one saying it is a whole lot (that would be me), the other saying it's a moderate amount. Yet it is the third side, which claims there is none whatsoever, which gets the media space.

Just a wild guess that Brahmins do very well on the memory portions of the WAIS and other IQ tests.
