Cassius Clay

Sometimes you watch an early fight of his, and it's amazing that his opponent got in any punches at all.

Archie Moore was no bum, he had been light heavyweight champion for five years. This was, admittedly, late in his career.

He really was as good as he said he was, and just as pretty too. He was a figure of his time.

As my neighbor and I were discussing tonight, if you’re still going to win fights in your 40s and 50s the only choice is to get harsher in employment of disparity of force. The rules of boxing forbid all the viable strategies.
