Nature, Red in Tooth and Claw

I just saw a bee chasing a hummingbird away from a flower - and the little SOB was sticking with it, not letting the bird sneak back from another side. It makes entire sense, but I had never seen it before.

The hummingbirds themselves are in perpetual warfare with each other.

I once watched a robin violently body slam a worm multiple times then stab it with its beak again and again. The robin tore the worm's body to pieces. Very brutal.

A chicken on a mouse is enough to remind you of their kinship to tyrannosaurs.
