Whoa! Whoa! I've been away, and missed this E. Hines post. He wasn't even looking in that direction! Just caught it out of the corner of his eye and got his hand up there. That ball looked like it was on its way to beaning the interviewer pretty seriously.

It does seem to have a "listen to the force" aspect to it. I thought he was working from the sound, but on reflection, I'm guessing that some behavior of the cameraman wight have cued him in.

That's an interesting subject, as it illustrates how we, the viewer, forget that this is a camera, operated by a human being who is present. All art has its conventions, which we just accept and think no more about, desiring to enter in to the experience of the story before us.

I suspected the cameraman clued him in as well. If so, he was a bit of a prodigy, since the camera holds perfectly true with no jiggling or backing away. I think more likely a sound engineer or producer. There is more than one person behind the camera.

Still, amazing. The best part is his completely nonplussed attitude. A shake of the hand. "Keep it on the field guys." Yeah, it's what I do. Just another day at work.

Love it.

Ah, Steve linked it to a larger audience, and it turns out it's fake.
