Polynesian and Native American Contact

There is genetic evidence for a single-contact event between South American and Polynesian natives around 1200 AD. This has long been rumored, but with little evidence. Greg Cochran suggests that there could have been trading or raiding, with pigs as a possible exchange good.

I will say a bit more on this. The short answer is that Heyerdahl still does not get a passing grade, but he just went from 0-5% credibility to 10-20%. Plus being the guy who suggested it, which is always cool, even if you get all the rest of it wrong.
