Considering while riding in the car the teenagers and damned-kids-today-can't-even-shoe-a-horse attitude we seem to always take in the world (and I just wrote about), I wryly compared what I was listening to compared to what I listened to while driving, oh, 1970-2010. I listened to Top 40, then Christian music cassettes, then sporting events and sports talk, then oldies, then talk radio, then sports talk again. I did a few Great Courses and a few audio books.
On walks I listened to the radio station that plays in my head, which I still like.
I now listen to podcasts - information-dense podcasts, about 1/3 sports and entertainment, 2/3 serious subjects. I'm not seeing this as a serious deterioration.
