We've a pretty comprehensive hardware store nearby, and when we were new in the place we broke several well-weathered tag-sale shovels and forks attempting to dig-out some of the overgrown shrubs. When my wife asked about dealing with 'fix or replace' during my workday, I suggested going to that store and inquiring about replacement fork-handles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CmaLgxLDE0 I don't think they were "two Ronnies" fans at the store. They also didn't carry replacement handles.
