Decisiveness

What is the relationship between courage and decisiveness?

I’ve been rereading US Grant’s memoirs. I particularly like his and Lincoln’s sense of humor. But Grant always emphasized being decisive for his Generals. It not only supported his battlefield goals but propped up the morale of his troops and politicians at home. This was often too simply described as “he fights”, while it really was he knew what he wanted/needed to do and made decisions quickly. Indecisiveness saps courage quickly.
