Notice that Ten-Four blog has leaped off the bottom of the sidebar list with his first post in five months, Why I'm Against The Red Sox Fire Sale, Even If I'm The Only One.  The argument depends on the fact that the Red Sox - and many other MLB teams - are making ever more money, and this is unlikely to change.  Therefore, they didn't really need to clear salary, which is being sold as the beating heart of the deal up here.
