So much for (the classic misinterpretation of) Robert Frost's "The Road Less Taken." Real physics gets Frost right. Or more right, anyway. Whichever path you take, you end up in mostly the same place. Every photon took both paths. And it gets worse. But James has linked to an Ars Technica seven-part series on quantum mechanics which is engagingly written and has no math. Only the first one is available at the moment, but the others are coming. Lots of fun, really, and even I think I may have understood some of it. You might even be able to show it to your children, at least with an idea of illustrating for them that there are strange things out there at the microscopic level.
