I check my statistics every month or two, and long-time followers will note. Things are about the same, but the overall totals are usually much higher than the sum of my last score of posts, so I assume there are machines out there scanning lots of places for keywords, looking for a place to land and drop links for World of Warcraft gold, escort services in Mumbai, or herbal treatments in the comments. My playing with the graph gives supporting evidence for this. There is a solid and predictable up-and-down appearance in my daily traffic, with highs between 4-10pm and lows from 1-5am. So when my second-highest spike of the week is at 3am on a Thursday, I figure that's a machine.
Unless, of course, a half-dozen of you coincidentally decided to binge-read a week's worth of AVI at the same time this week during bouts of insomnia. There's that, I suppose. Can't rule it out.

I'd like to think that an Italian (or last week a Ukranian) reader discovered my blog and spent the rest of the evening reading. It's possible, right?
