The story about Michael Jordan making a comeback, and Antawn Jamison giving it credibility, is similar to an old baseball story. It is told most often about Ty Cobb, but if it is even close to true, it is more likely to be a Ted Williams story from the rubber-chicken circuit about Rogers Hornsby.
"Hornsby averaged over .400 for five years in a hitter's era. What do you think he would hit if he were playing today, Ted?"
"Oh, I doubt he'd hit over .300. Maybe .280."
"What?!!! You think the great Rogers Hornsby would only hit .280 if he were playing today?"
"Well sure, but that's pretty good for a guy who's 70 years old, isn't it?"
