The National Rifle Association has sent me a membership card - not valid unless dues are paid, but still. Presumably, they have my name from some rented list, and as I only contributed to one candidate last year (I forget who), that's probably it.
I understand that they need the money and all that, but my experience with firearms is from Camp Mi-te-na in the early 60's and even in prone position with a support, I couldn't hit much with a .22. I recall that I usually actually hit the piece of paper most of the time, and something with points about half the time.
I was worse at archery. I am in fact terrible at all sports which involve aiming.
No halfling blood, apparently.
I thought you had furry feet.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever try fencing? Reaching out to touch somebody? Or, as sabrists say, "I'll take a whack at it!"
ReplyDeleteBeware.
ReplyDeleteThe NRA never leaves you alone, once you get on their 'list of people who have ever replied to any of our letters.'
