T-Ball Makes Parenting Worth It

I saw a short on YouTube and it reminded me of days 35 and 40 years ago.  Your child's first game of T-Ball is one of the great moments of your life. Remind young parents of this.

My son-in-law was playing 'catch' with my grandson before he could even stand up. Now he's doing play-by-play radio broadcasting (internet-based) of my grandson's middle school baseball games. It's not just T-Ball... it's soccer, first dance recital, first grade-school basketball game, coaching the girls volleyball team, sailing, fishing... so many truly entertaining things about being an involved parent in all sorts of childhood activities make parenting worth it.

I announced some Little League games because all parents took a turn at the announcing and snack bar. But I made it up, making it sound like major league. "Dylan led the Sally league in doubles last year and was called up in September. They have great hopes for him."

Not everyone was amused. And the nostalgic 1960s Narragansett Beer commercial in the 1990's really sent them over the edge.

Hahaha! You and my son-in-law would be a hoot announcing a game together. He also imitates major league announcing, including "guests" who provide color commentary.

Having grown up in the southwest and south (with only one TV station) I never saw a Narragansett Beer commercial... Youtube came to my rescue. They are hilarious!
