Though it was over 50 years ago, I believe you and I sang this one together. Not having thought about this song for most of those years, I'm astounded to realize that every lyric, every guitar chord, every note is not only perfectly preserved in my brain, but that I can effortlessly call them up at a moment's notice. Now, why can't I do that with my car keys?
Music is stored in different parts of the brain. All kinds of theories why for evolutionary reasons. Make up a theory of your own, it's just as likely to be right.
