Nick Green

Is not just having a career year, he has already had a career year.

That just makes it sadder.

"Career year" is the best year of one's career. Nick Green, who is 30 and is thus on the downside of his career, has already hit more homers, better average, etc - in half a season for the sox.

Good for him, glad he had the chance, but it suggests that the second half of his season is not likely to be better than his first.
