Who perishes if there are conflicting visions: for example the efficient organization and the aesthetic? (I swear I am not colorblind, despite complaints about my "decoration" schemes.)
Somewhat exaggerated story: I complained about it years ago and she said "Well, what would you like to do, then?" I paused a while and said "I no longer have any idea."
That's the way it is in these patriarchal families, y'know?
Assuming she is capable of it, no man's efforts to make his wife happy are wasted; and if by chance he succeeds, he reaches a station rare among men - no matter how humble his other earthly achievements.
