I didn't sing this one in highschool with Chris - I didn't know it then. I wish I had. It would have been very typical of what I gravitated toward. The background stories of the song are interesting if you like that sort of thing.
I haven't heard that in many years. At the time I didn't quite see how the allusions in the refrain worked, though I thought the refrain was nicely evocative. I was used to songs not always making a lot of sense when looked at closely...

ReplyDeleteI meant at the time. The 4-winds and the 7-seas I recognized, but didn't get what they were supposed to be doing.
