Bird Dog has long noted that for some reason he cannot comment here, though he occasionally wants to. Franknbean has just mentioned the same thing. HMS Defiant, and sometimes others (randomly, unexplainably) always show up in my spam folder, ever though his comments do come through.
I have had problems commenting at a few sites, sometimes fixable by not entering my website address at all, sometimes no matter what. Any of you who have insight into these matters, I welcome your discussion.
I tried using chrome, without a google account associated with it. No dice--it wants an account. I can try with opera. Back in the day you didn't need to associate a cell phone number with a google account, but I don't know if that's still true.
ReplyDeleteOpera too. They really want to keep track of you--although that doesn't mean your blog will be accessible through google's search algorithms.
ReplyDeleteI am spam. Who knew? :)
ReplyDeleteI use waterfox these days because my computer was telling me every single website I went to was spam or dangerous or both. I can live without the hassle. And, no, I'm not that guy that used to write 1000 word letters to the editor of the The Times about birds ....
ReplyDeleteI comment here and at Grim's, also Althouse using Chrome. No issues but I do sign in to my Google account.
ReplyDeleteOur HOA has off and on issues with registration at our website with the Captcha inpt. I'm not aware of a fix procedure but it might be something to look at from his side.
I've used half a dozen different browsers here over the years without ever having a problem. Maggie's Farm often gives me fits, though.
ReplyDeleteI found MF works if I leave off the link to my site, but url links only work a random (?) 30% of the time.
