Even though I expressed doubt about the principle in the comments under So Covid is Over, it is something that is culturally insisted on. And either way, it's a good song.
I saw my father do the show in 1974. He played Mortimer, and it was far better than anything I had ever done, even though I was majoring in Theatre & Speech.
