A reader got a malware warning when going to one of the posts in my archive. My guess is that my wife has been right all along and I should have deleted all those cheap diablo gold comments and the like.
Please tell me if you have the least problem.

My officemate (who writes video games for fun) suggested that I install noscript, ghostery, and adblock plus as Firefox plugins. A button at the bottom of the screen allows you to permit execution of various scripts or (temporarily or permanently) trust sites. Some things don't work quite so cleanly as before, but other sites (e.g. pjmedia.com) load many times faster and don't crash. In addition Firefox has decided to start blocking flash--I have to temporarily enable it to listen to WGBH online.
Adblock plus blocks invasive ads, but not simple text ones--the kind I gather they create. Seems fair; I'm willing to put up with invitations to buy stuff, but I get cranky when they crawl all over the screen in front of what I'm trying to look at.
I uninstalled Flash recently, which has helped with my pages loading and Safari crashing.
