If you made it a movie, people would put it in the sci-fi, magical realism, or conspiracy categories. I have a patient with Capgras Delusion who has an identical twin. Yes, you will have to look it up. It's fairly obscure. I see about one a year, maybe less.
Note: It probably does have interesting movie possibilities.
Pod people?
ReplyDeleteThat's just what I was thinking: Leonard Nimoy warmly reassuring his patients that their conviction that their loved ones had been taken over by pods was a symptom of the alienation of modern life.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have more to do with a derangement of the parts of the brain that recognize faces, and it must be a truly horrifying experience.
