For Conservatives To Consider

Much of the "Boycott McCain" rhetoric from the Right contains a good deal of prediction what will happen if they sit this one out. The assumption is that this will duly chastise the Republican Party and things will swing back our way in 2010 and 2012 and straight on 'til morning.

A British conservative offers a cautionary tale, describing what happened when this way tried by the Tory Party in the UK. The right became less relevant, not more.

McCain despises people like me but I am still voting for him.
    But I wanted Huckabee.
    And I wanted Phil Graham.
    And I wanted Libby Dole.

There seems to be a pattern here. I never get the nominee I want, except once: Jimmy Carter. I was going to name one of my sons after him. Why can't the nasty man he's become shut up? And why couldn't I see the Peacock Throne falling and realize that his trying to negotiate instead of declare war because war had been declared on us would lead to 911 (and all the atrocities inbetween we basically ignored)?

You are so right! This way lies madness. I could kick Rush and Ann Coulter for their smartass talk. Oh, yeah, any Clinton would be better than a John McCain, not! To be as brilliant as they are, that's an awfully short sighted plan. The Clintons are solid gold crooks and liars in it for the glory, nothing else. Hillary Clinton is a boil on the butt of humanity. Yes, you can quote me.

What's the point of quoting someone anonymous?
