That "Jewish Lobby" Again

I haven't followed much of what prominent atheist Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion has been saying. The following quote may be an example of his true colors leaking out, however.
A renowned atheist cited the "Jewish lobby" as a model for his campaign to promote atheism in the United States.

Richard Dawkins said he wanted to gain the same kind of influence as the Jewish lobby, saying it "monopolizes" U.S. foreign policy.

"When you think about how fantastically successful the Jewish lobby has been, though, in fact, they are less numerous I am told -- religious Jews anyway -- than atheists and [yet they] more or less monopolize American foreign policy as far as many people can see," Dawkins, a British evolutionary biologist who advocates atheism, told the Guardian newspaper. "So if atheists could achieve a small fraction of that influence, the world would be a better place."

Dawkins, an Oxford professor who wrote the best-seller "The God Delusion," told the Guardian that he wants to organize American atheists to counter the influence of religious groups.

"I think some sort of political organization is what they need," he said.

  1. um...Having read The God Delusion, I think it's fair to say that nothing really leaks out from Dawkins.

He is very up-front and brash about his opinions when it comes to the interaction between religion and politics.

He says all kind of crazy stuff.

He even states that teaching children about hell is a much worse abuse than being molested by a priest; which he call as merely embarassing and slightly awkward.

    um..ok then...

Maybe the atheists don't dominate foreign policy in this country, but they have had a dramatic impact on domestic policy, starting with Justice Black and his pronouncement of "separation of church and state" as a legitimate interpretation of the establishment clause to the present day where people become "offended" at public displays of faith which are protected by the free exercise clause. They've brainwashed the judges, they don't need much else.

  3. Dawkins also tried to draw an equivalance between Jews and the nutcases who flew into the Twin Towers not that long after it happened. Frankly, I think he exemplifies a strain of anti-Semitism which has long had undue influence in the UK. I'm thinking of starting a political party of evangelists in the UK to advance the theory that the only people who should be blamed for crimes by atheists are the ones that exhort them or commit them.
