Most of my readers go over to James's site at least occasionally, I believe, but sometimes I want to make sure something doesn't get overlooked. A Father's Legacy to His Daughters, from the early 1800s is linked there. It's quite a remarkable text, really.

The only thing of note that Wikipedia can bear to say about the book is that Mary Wollstonecraft in A Vindication of the Rights of Woman was critical.
Which is true, but I'm pretty sure that they've missed the majority of her criticisms and misunderstood the one they highlighted.
Glad you said that. You prevented me from jumping to a conclusion there.
