My son in Nome tells me it was -1 up there this week and they are waiting for the snow to go away. He keeps trying to talk his wife into moving to Anchorage, at least.
Where we have mountains, spring is real in the valley long before it is at the ridge. I was down today where it was 85 degrees and sunny, which is quite a sudden change. It was freezing at night all weekend up here.

What is it, maybe 3-5 degrees warmer in Anchorage?
