Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud
Thanks, AVI. I've had this song in my head for three days now. A pretty tune, but enough is definitely enough.
The trick to that is to sing the whole song out loud. I think there is some "not finished" loop in the brain that prevents one from letting a song go. (See also, last song on the radio in the morning before you leave the car.)
The correct term for this sort of thing is "earworm".
