IASA to FTW! to QQ

That was my succession of emotions when I got invited to comment at someone else’s blog, who then deleted my comments.

  4. Retriever - believe me, I was tempted to that. But the title isn't just being cute. I really did move from irritation to exultation to sadness.

  5. Do I wish I knew what those letters meant?

  6. While, I recognize the For the Win! phrase.

Some searching suggests I Am So Annoyed and Quick Question for the others.

  7. karrde is correct on the first two. QQ, because of its visual similarity to eyes with tears in them, is now used by kids to denote sadness. It is acquiring a mocking connotation, which isn't what I meant, but still means mostly crying now.

Lelia: Google them. Like you, I knew none of these three acronyms before this article. Google is your friend, as long as you use Customize Google in conjunction with it, to make sure Google is your friend but not your big brother.
When you type in ftw, at least on my browser, the choice of "FTW SLANG" arises.

    "IASA SLANG" will do.

or add "acronym" to the search
Urban dictionary is also a good
    place to search.
    There is an acronym dictionary.

    http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/QQ

You can also add to the acronym dictionary. I added PSF= pendejos sin fronteras (foreign followers of Hugo Chavez) to the acronym dictionary. I included a link to substantiate my addition, and several weeks later it appeared online.

Before I started reading blogs, I had no idea what all the acronyms meant. Not even LOL. Even old dogs, old Retrievers, can learn new tricks. When I see Retriever, I word associate to Bargyla Rateaver.
