Nostalgia

Remember in 2000, when the newspapers and talking heads were so concerned with how much money George Bush had raised for his campaign, so that they accused him of essentially buying the election?

Remember in 2006 the household names for Republican scandals? Can anyone name the Democrats currently involved in scandals?

Remember in 1996 how we were told that we should want divided government between the parties by those same papers/heads?

My thoughts exactly and I was just venting to the little woman this morning! There hasn't been a single peep in the media or among talking heads that I can determine regarding the AMOUNT that Obama raised in September. To the contrary, there seems to be unabashed admiration for him having raised so much money. If we worried that the Lincoln bedroom was for sale while Bill Clinton was in office - man, Obama will have a toll booth at the White House gates. It's going to be something else for the next four years.

  2. Oh come on, I totally know that it's a Democrat screwing up Mark Foley's old seat in Florida right now. That was just too funny not to note. Tim Mahoney. They're putting something in the water down there.

  3. It's a fair cop, Bethany. I should have specified that a fair percentage of people here would think of Mahoney, Rangell, Dodd, and Frank without pausing.
