A few thoughts

1. Geez, has the term "blowhard" ever had a better poster boy than Biden?
2. Biden pronounces "George Bush's" as "George Bushis" with an up inflection at the end. It sounds really odd.
3. It's really annoying how Biden keeps saying "Let me tell you." and pointing at the camera. It feels like I'm being lectured by a vice-principal or gym coach.

  2. I’m sick and tired of both of ‘em (especially Palin) droppin’ the G off of everythinG. I get why she does it — evidently she’s goin’ fer what someone is telling her is the countrified/illiterate vote, but why does Biden have to match her? Brings both of them down in my eyes (Biden didn’t have far to fall anyway.).

Palin narrowly lost the 1st 3rd, won the 2nd (Energy) and massively lost the last third. But then I was actually listening to what was actually said.

She avoided most of the questions. To be fair, Biden avoided them when it was convenient, but he won point by point. Some of her answers were not even in the same Galaxy in relation to the questions, while he was on point almost across the board.

I’m also sick to my stomach listening to the various spin-meisters doing their fact-avoidance.

    Outta here….

  3. I think Palin's g-drop is more part of her actual accent, though she is perhaps emphasizing it now. It's a cultural marker, not an intellectual one. Even those of us who enunciate far more than the average have actual pronunciations that would look stupid in eye-dialect.

  4. The problem with Biden is that he was on point, but making up the facts. My new rule of thumb- when Joe looks you in the eye and prefaces his statement with "Let me tell you," he's lying.

I think the picture for "blowhard" in the dictionary is Barney Frank.

I think it's safe from upstart challenges from Biden or Pelosi.

As opposed to the rest of the time, when he's also lying??

    LOL.

  7. As a matter of fact, for Joe Biden to not be lying, he'd have to be making a statement like "I lie all the time".

    Heh.
