Is War Caused By Youth?

A fascinating concept, over at StrategyPage suggesting the Youth Bulge, of too many males between 15-30, is responsible for unrest historically. It is significant, because it seems to be true today as well. The outreach of Western medical care into poor countries has caused a drop in child mortality, leading to a greater percentage of the population being young - and violent.

Makes sense. Like the locusts who feel the urge to moult and swarm after their hind legs are "stroked" five times, huh? China is in for some interesting times...

Utah's got a large number of youths, but for some reason it isn't a hotbed of crime. Have we just not met the correct percentage threshold yet?
